The Black, the White, and the Blue!

Wednesday night was my last choir concert. :( At first I thought "ah I won't cry that much, maybe just tear up". WRONG! By the end of the second to the last song, You Raise me up by Josh Groben, there was not a dry eye amoung the concert choir. Our last song is supposed to be a happy one The black, the white and the blue by Kelly Dehaan, yet we cried even harder, Including Mr. D. It was a very emotional night all together.

Thursday and Friday were our last days of class! I can't believe it is over! I am sure everybody goes thru this but holy cow! It's an emotional roller coaster! On Friday we got our caps and gowns! (I am so happy girls get blue, black is boring) I still am just in shock, hopefully it will go away soon!

Hiking?

On Saturday night Cortney, Colton, Rich, and I went hiking. Sorta. We went up the trail in Butterfield canyon. It was more like a really long walk. Well for me and Cortney. Rich and Colton hiked up to a cave, (Cort and I watched) mooned us, and came back down. Actually I think Rich was the only one who did any mooning, he is sorta a freak about that, similar to a 13 year old boy. After our intense workout, wink wink, we got shakes and went to various parks taking funny pictures! It was alot of fun though!

P.s. Cortney has the pics so I will put them up when I get them!

Career Day

So the other day Sherrie, my sister, called me and told me that Emma wanted me to come to career day. She told me that Emma had informed her and James, that since James was so busy at work that she wanted me to come. I was flattered that she wanted me to come, and since I got to leave school early to do it I gladley excepted. So I went and did like 9 presentations to these 2nd graders. It was alot of fun. I learned the ENTIRE dental health history of all the kids. :) They were very anxious to tell me, loved it.

Senior Citizens

This weekend was such a blast! It wasn't even going to be anything special, but at the last minute, on friday, we ended up going to the Jag Blast, which was the student/faculty Softball game, and then us watching the Jazz game on a huge projector screen.

Rich and I spent most of the evening with our friends Cortney and Colton, but we sorta hung out with everyone! I love people with school spirit, it makes things so much more fun! We went to Colton's house to get some camping chairs for the game, and he introduced Rich and me to his mothers EIGHT dogs! They were all pugs but one and she was a bull dog! It was so much fun!

Saturday was the senior dinner dance, and holy cow it was fun! I love dancing! It was my first time having Cordon Blu, and most of the poeple didn't like it, but I loved it!

I finished off the weekend, with an intense game of killer bunnies! (btw I just bought the expansion deck, one word: AWESOME!)

Killer Geese

Sherrie and James bought a raft last night, and we wanted to try it out. We actually couldn't wait until the next day (today) so we blew it up, set it up in the living room, played killer bunnies in it and had popsicles. It looked kinda funny with four (completely sober) adults sitting in a blown up raft, playing a game about killing bunnies. (well it was like 11:30 so not completely with it)
So we had a little outing to the pond at daybreak today. Of course since I have no muscle tone, at all my arms are killing because I ATTEMPTED rowing. At one point I was sitting on the dock with Emma and we were throwing pebbles in the water and these ducks came over thinking it was bread. Well that was no big deal and a couple minutes later they left, but then a goose came over. It was HUGE. I was scared for our lives! Idk why, but in general I am scared of spiders, snakes, some cats, and birds. This thing was massive and scary. I took a pic of it on Sherrie's camera but I am not sure its a good one if I find it I will put it up!

When All Else Fails Sing!

So I volunteered to babysit tonight for Sherrie since she was so kind and helped me with me homework, and it has been uh... fun. In all fairness to Ben he was having a hard night. So it starts off with Ben not getting sleepy with his sleeping meds like he usually does, which proves harder than I expected. I did EXACTLY what Sherrie told me to do after his show was over and so far so good. I take him upstairs give him kisses and hugs, say good nights and shut the door. (usually this is what I do when I babysit him, and have to put him to bed.) That's when it all started. I hear Ben throwing a tantrum, and I thought ah give him a couple minutes and he will be ready for sleep. (mind you, he had already been dancing to the wiggles all night, any 5 year old would be ready for bed and normally Ben would too, but of course I am babysitting so I jinxed myself.) So ten minutes go by and no stopping the tantrum. I went upstairs and started scratching his tummy, one of his favorite things I do to relax him, not this time. I tried to leave again and he would not have it. After a few other things, that also usually work, I finally started to sing to him. I haven't done that a lot with Ben while babysitting because it hasn't worked like it has for Joseph, but I tried anyway. Of course it worked. I am having someone crappy luck today, but I have to say that was a stroke of genius. When all else fails sing!
